I guess I’ll go for the most traditional of starts and introduce myself.
My name is Jenny. I’m 32 and was born and raised in Southern California. I’ve never lived outside of a 60-mile radius and yet I feel like my life experiences have me living my life everywhere. This blog is to share my travels, my experiences, and my day-to-day occurrences.
While I may not have lived in any other state than this one, California is as rich as Scrooge McDuck when it comes to culture and activities. My heart has always recognized San Francisco and Los Angeles as sort of witchy familiars, while I feel the most comfortable and secure in Orange County, home to Botox housewives and the best damn Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande (Old Phifle fans anyone?) Both of my parents were raised inside of the Orange Curtain (as the locals call it), one from Orange and one from Tustin. Hell, even their high schools are rivals. But they met on a blind date and well, to sound absolutely cliche, the rest is history.
I am already fully aware of how lucky I am to have both of my parents still married after almost 36 years, as well as both sets of my grandparents. They have all contributed to the plentiful and joyous memories that are mine and opened my eyes to exploring this green and blue (and sometimes brown) orb we are riding recklessly around the sun.
So I hope you enjoy all I have to share. Storytelling is something that reaches across all cultures and languages. It’s as old as time and we only know this because of it. Mythology and religion is just that, the telling of the experiences of those that came long before us so that we may connect with them. Sharing memories is a sort of a hobby of mine, among other things and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do enjoy sharing them.
